1968 - 1975

After graduating high school in 1968, David joined the local band The Overland Stage. The 'Overland" played all over the midwest and was eventually signed by Clive Davis to Epic Records in 1972. Their debut album was recorded in the winter of 1971-1972 at CBS Studios in San Francisco, California. The album was produced by Chicago producers Bob Destocki and Frank Rand, of Ides Of March "I'm Your Vehicle" fame.

1974 - 1981

Although the album did not translate to significant success for the band, David became obsessed with the art of recording engineering. He returned home and began buying recording equipment to begin a career in the recording arts.  In 1975, David purchased a share in a small recording studio and began writing jingles to pay the bills. He found he had a solid affinity and also a passion for the advertising business and soon began composing music to picture to action for scores for television commercials.
